How you ended up in the world of alternative and complementary health?
What started as a curiosity evolved into a life-long passion.

As a Texas boy, I grew up with a love of the outdoors and all the physicality associated with living on a farm. You’d think with this upbringing I’d end up a cowboy. But instead, I went to college and got a job in corporate America as an insurance adjuster.
I worked with patients who sustained injuries. By reviewing their insurance claims, I was able to follow health journeys. This gave me a unique perspective into the inner workings of conventional medicine. I saw that typical treatments like surgery and prescription medications never addressed underlying causes. They’re simply a profitable way of treating symptoms. Instead of curing or preventing health problems, our medical system is focused on managing diseases. As a result, millions of people live shorter, less productive lives and suffer needlessly.
That’s when I decided to switch tracks. I went back to school to study biochemistry, nutrition, acupuncture, chiropractic, and less conventional therapies that focus on returning the body to its natural state of health.
It’s been the most amazing, pivotal decision of my life. Since that life-changing move, I’ve treated (and even cured) thousands of patients of various conditions; started writing my newsletter, Alternatives, to share valuable health information with thousands more across the globe; and have traveled the world—from Nicaragua to Cuba, Australia, the Far East, and beyond—to find innovative herbs and natural solutions to prevent and cure some of the most common problems that conventional medicine fails to fix.
These are the things I will share with you in the coming weeks, and that I hope will lead you on a path toward truly excellent health.
